Our staff are chosen not only for their skills, but for their compassion and genuine interest in working with seniors. For many, Seton Villa feels like an extended family, a place where kindness and connection are part of daily life.
EXPANDING ACCESSIBILITY
In partnership with the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), BC Housing and the City of Burnaby, Seton Villa is proud to continue expanding its vision of providing inclusive, supportive housing with the addition of a new 48-unit, fully wheelchair-accessible building. Construction began in 2025, with occupancy slated for late spring of 2027.
Seton Villa’s existing tower is in year one of a five-year extensive rejuvenation funded by our partner BC Housing.

OUR HISTORY
Rooted in history & ahead of it’s time
The story of Seton Villa began long before it became a retirement centre. The property, began with Overlynn Mansion, built in 1912, which served first as a private residence and a school for girls (Seton Academy). Now entering a new chapter, Overlynn Mansion is being carefully restored, with a vision to create a public gathering space rooted in its history and elegance.
In 1970, Action Line Housing Society, a non-profit organization, purchased the property. Through the vision and leadership of Emmet Cafferky and a team of dedicated volunteers, Seton Villa opened its doors in 1974, introducing a progressive model of senior housing that combined independence, community and care under one roof. The City of Burnaby Mayor and Council also played a key role.
Today, Seton Villa continues to honour and build upon that vision, providing affordable, compassionate living for seniors in a place that truly feels like home.
